Wire Actor Sightings
A few random sightings I’ve caught and stuff that’s coming up. Feel free to add more that you know of!
Dominic West (Jimmy McNulty)
- Sandra Bullock movie called 28 Days. I’ve kinda loved this movie for a while. It also has Aragorn in it. And Wash from Firefly. It’s like Saving Private Ryan full of newcomers!
- 300, as the creepy toga wearing bad guy. (see above)
- Apparently he’s in the new Punisher: WarZone movie as the bad guy, Jigsaw. wtf? Why do actors I love have to be in stuff I never want to watch, thereby forcing me to watch it?
Michael K. Williams (Omar Little)
- I saw Gone Baby Gone before watching The Wire and had no idea I much I would come to love this man. He’s a cop. That’s all I remember. Not a big role.
- Hysterical youtube thingy from R.Kelly called Trapped in The Closet. MKW is in Part 6 thru 11.
- More high profile is a small role in The Road. There’s a terribly creepy picture of him out there that I refuse to post.
Idris Elba (Stringer Bell)
- It’s pretty much a staple for television stars to race right to horror movies as their avenue to the big screen. See 28 Days Later and Prom Night. Or don’t and save yourself a few hours. Also The Reaping with Hillary Swank marking two excellent actors who must have been on roofies to agree to this project. And upcoming horror movies The Unborn from David Goyer who’s been helping to pen the new Batman movies and Obsessed, where he’ll be the subject of a white girl
- Another upcoming project called Bone Deep slated for 2010 which seemed promising until I realized it had Hayden Christensen and Paul Walker in it. Well atleast he’ll be the best actor in the bunch. Someone get Idris a new agent.
- American Gangster is another that I watched before The Wire and had no idea who I was seeing. The movie’s pretty good despite Elba’s limited screentime. Worth the watch.
Wood Harris (Avon Barksdale)
- Remember the Titans!!!! Who doesn’t love this movie? I dare you to find me one person.
- I think I saw he’ll be in the next episode of House on November 25th. Don’t quote me on that.
- Keep an eye out for him in Next Day Air set to come out in May of 2009. Not sure how big his role is but it’s got Donald Faison and Mos Def in it, so should be fun.
Robert Wisdom (Bunny Colvin)
- Plays a kickass angel in the new season of Supernatural, currently airing Thursdays at 9pm on the CW *hinthint*. I almost had a seizure I was so excited to see him pop up on one of my favorite shows.
Andre Royo (Bubbles)
- Apparently he’s been in episodes 2 and 5 of Heroes this season and some of The Sarah Connor Terminator Chronicles. I wouldn’t know, I don’t watch either of these shows. I also caught him in some movie on HBO one night and I have no idea what it was. Otherwise, not much there. Criminal if ya ask me.
Jamie Hector (Marlo Stanfield)
- Also currently in Heroes. I caught an episode with him in it. He does fine, but the show still sucks.
- Apparently to be starring in a new movie called The Suspect of St. Marks Place where he plays a notorious druglord. Way to stretch your range there, Jamie.
Tristan Wilds (Michael Lee)
- Currently in the new 90210 show. I refuse to watch it. Let me know if it’s good.
Lance Reddick (Cedric Daniels)
- He’s in Fringe. So is Pacey from Dawson’s Creek. Despite these two compelling reasons I can’t bring myself to watch the show. I did catch 10 minutes of an episode once. He appears to play Cedric Daniels again.
Felicia Pearson (Snoop)
- Recently arrested on drug charges and refusing to cooperate with police. She’ll likely be spending some time in the Baltimore Penitentary. Say Hi if you happen to be in the neighborhood.
