5.03 Free to Be You and Me
5.03 Free to Be You and Me – Here’s some of what I’ve been noticing without having gotten around to explaining. Since we get a new episode in less than an hour, I’ll go ahead and post this much.
When Castiel was appealing to Dean to help him look for Raphael, I almost expected Dean to tell Cas he could do it alone and Castiel to reply that yeah, well, he didn’t want to.
I’m worried for Sam. Most of last season, he and Bobby seemed to be working together (even more than Dean and Bobby) and now Sam is shutting Bobby down. Will Sam go to someone with the Lucifer’s vessel news or attempt to bear that burden alone? I keep wishing Sam had had a visit from the real dream Jessica. The messages of encouragement Lindsay was passing to him were welcome, though. There’s nothing that can’t be forgiven. There’s nothing that can’t be changed. There’s reason to hope.
Dean plays the role of encourager of Castiel’s faith. It reminded me of the times he supported Sam’s faith after Sam met the angels in 4.07 It’s the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester and back in 2.13 Houses of the Holy. Earlier in the episode, Dean explained to Castiel that “when humans want something really, really bad, they lie.” This stood out to me because last season was so driven by secrets and lies.
FISH? check! It’s there on the wall behind the deputy.
The brothel downstairs lounge and upstairs hallway and mostly purple. The black and purple trimmed lingerie (from 2.15 Tall Tales)…

…shows up on the blond who catches Dean’s eye in Free to Be You and Me.

I’m going to have to start playing “Where’s Waldo” with this show. I was looking for shots of Lindsay’s necklace when there was the guy with the Santa beard again. He’s moving toward camera as the three hunters are leaving the bar without Sam.
