This post is to drop off a couple links for ideas focused on the visuals of Supernatural.  First is the whole cross motif that has appeared repeatedly now in S4. I posted about it in our S4 thread twice and then took it to a livejournal community that focuses on noticing the visual style of the show and how that contributes to the storytelling and characters.  I also dropped off a smaller idea about a camera angle I noticed both 4.07 “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester” and 3.08 “A Very Supernatural Christmas” using when the thought occurred to me.  (My livejournal user name is “annspal” – so if you click through, you don’t have to wonder.)

While no one accused me of being genius at either place (not even me), I’ll probably look for feedback from both places the next time something strikes me visually.

Now for the WTF!? of my day…. I blind picked the movie Palindromes (Solondz, 2004) off the Blockbuster rack the last time I dropped off mailers. The cover artwork appealed to me, and based on the blurbs (“Two thumbs up!” etc.) I thought maybe it had a chance to be the movie I wished Juno had been. It wasn’t, but that isn’t important for this bit.  LOOK! at the truck! The plates! The plates!

I thought the accepted story was that KAZ 2Y5 stood for Kansas, home of the Winchesters, and 2005, the year the show got its start?  It can’t be coincidence for the exact number to show up on a Kansas plate both places, can it?  I did a quick google search and don’t see any connection between the show and this movie. I’m feeling very disoriented over the sighting, though. I hope someone who knows the story stops by and explains it to me.
